He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Frederick Gruendell and Roseltha Ann Parrish; and his brothers, Douglas, Victor, Philip and Roger.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara Kaye Wall; his children, Jeff Gruendell (Kaylene), Rob Gruendell (JoEll), Kristi Teeter and Lori VanWagoner (Andy); his grandchildren, Chris, Nick, Amanda, Peyton, Ashley, Cassidy, Ashton, Brooklynn, Cole and Camryn; and his siblings, Valerie and Kurt. He is also survived by numerous nieces & nephews.
