He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Elinor Mae; his children, Susan Sturgeon Langan (James Andrew), Eric Edman Sturgeon (Carolyn) and Michael Jon Sturgeon (Alison); his grandchildren, Kelly Crawford, Alaina Valentine (Aaron), Teresa Brough (Andy), Sydney Brimley (Dave), Davis Sturgeon (Haley), Eric Andrew Langan and Abi Bischoff (McKay); his great grandchildren, Oliver Valentine, Benjamin Brough and Ellie Brimley; his sisters, Sharlene Hogan (Roy) and Fonda Holtmyer (Ron); his nieces and nephews, Beth Johnson, Amy Bones, Ann Albertson, RJ Hogan, Dawn Hogan, Beth Anderson (Aaron), Devin Holtmyer and Darin Holtmyer (late Andrea); and his parents, Mary Vera Nahach Sturgeon and Issac Edman Sturgeon.
