He was predeceased by: his wife Mildred Jean Elder; his children, Mark and Joanne; and his grandchildren, Tyler and Jerry.
He is survived by: his children, D. Craig Elder (Laraine), Robert K. Elder (Gina), Julie Heiden (Reed) and Kevin J. Elder (Jeannee). He is also survived by 28 grandchildren and 67 great grandchildren.
