He is survived by: his mother Marietta Brady Coates; his wife Shirley McCrone; his children, Wendie Giovannoni (Brian), Win Coates (Lorie), Chris Coates (MaLynda), Josh Coates (Angie), Allen Coates (Jessica), Sam Coates, Jim Coates, John Coates, Treavor Atwood (Ashley) and Tyson McCrone (Tefi); and his siblings, Sandy Schurz (Steve), Curtis Coates (Eddy Jean) and Francine Neil (Blaine).
