He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Felix Carpenter and Gerta Spendlove Harvey; and his sister Connie Harvey. He is survived by: his wife Paulette Sorensen; his children, Dena Green (Bill) of Eureka, Bradley Carpenter of Eureka and Jennifer Perry (Randy) of St. George; his grandchildren, Leslie, Roger, Trisa of Travis, KC, Duston, Breann, Kristin, Stetson, Brakell, Macheya, Bridger and Quade; and his sister Beverly Carson. He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.
