He was predeceased by: his parents, Vollie Oliver and Dora M. Davis Roper; his wife Josephine Huntsman; his son Roddy Lee Jr.; and his siblings, Vetaugh, Jodie Lamar and Luella Josephine.
He is survived by: his children, Charmaine Roper, John B. Roper (Jan) and Theresa Warber (Ron). He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
