Linda Merlen Obituary
Linda Mae Lake Merlen, age 73, earned her wings and went to live in heaven with her family on October 2, 2021, at Pinnacle Nursing Home. She was born on February 20, 1948, to Alice Mae and Clyde Amer Lake in Dragerton, Utah. She married Thomas Edward Davis in 1969 and together they had one beautiful daughter, Lisa Mae, prior to their divorce. She later married the love of her life, George Don Merlen in 1995, and they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Mount Timpanogos Temple.
Linda was raised and lived in East Carbon for most of her life. She attended East Carbon High where she graduated in 1966. She was a resident manager for the housing authority for 19 years. She loved her job and the people she was able to help and meet. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved camping, animals, and of course, any child she could get her hands on to cuddle them with her warm embrace.
Linda could brighten up any room with a song and a smile, and often did as she burst into song wherever she was. She knew how to make people feel valued and special with a kind word or her big bear hug. Linda was young at heart which is why all the kids in her life loved her and lovingly referred to her as Pooh Bear.
Linda was a very loved woman with a huge heart and personality to match. She made a lasting impression on anyone who was lucky enough to meet her. She will be greatly missed by friends, family, and all who knew her.
Linda Mae was survived by her siblings, Dennis (Deborah) Lake, Paula (Gene) Jacquez, Lori (Jim) Stewart; daughter, Lisa Mae (Daniel) Lopez; grandchildren: Sarah Mae Netto, Laura Vigil, Kena (Rafael Jr.) Hernandez, Stefan Vigil; great grandchildren: Rafael Hernandez III, Isabel Barron, Omar Barron Jr., Gabriel Hernandez, Lisitano Hernandez, Leo Barron, Angelo Netto, Kenneth Hernandez; and her many nieces and nephews that she loved very much.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Pinnacle Nursing Home and their staff who took great care of our Linda Mae. We know you were like family to her.
