He was predeceased by: his parents, Newell Joseph and Mary Barlow Olsen; his siblings, Leona Ann and Kenneth; his grandfather Ereck Joseph; and his father-in-law Jack Peterson.

He is survived by: his wife Jeri Peterson; his children, Kimber Powell (Quinton), Jedd Olsen (Katie), Rick Olsen (Amy), Jacy Clayton (Curtis) and Jaks Olsen (Jenica); his sisters, Laraine Kearns (Larry) and JoAnn Dansie (Craig); and his mother-in-law LuAnn Peterson. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren.
