He was predeceased by: his parents, Delbert Kirstine and Erma Kirstine; and his siblings, David and Virginia. He is survived by: his significant other Marlene Beers; his children, Lynda Kirstine, Michael Kirstine (Margo) and Susan Kirstine; his grandsons, Jacob, Benjamin and Zachary Kirstine; and his siblings, Keith Kirstine and Sharon Miller.
In addition to his contributions to education, Darrell served in the Navy from 1958 to 1962, demonstrating his commitment to both his country and his community.
