He was predeceased by: his parents, Letha Thompson and Ervin Thompson; his parents-in-law, Jesse and Beatrice Dye; his brothers-in-law, Neil Bates and Odell Dye; his sister Relda (Everett Gerdes); his siblings-in-law, Darwin and Pearl Young; and his granddaughter Stephanie E Thompson.
He is survived by: his wife Lois Dye; his grandsons, Steven James and Kevin Reese; his children, Peggy Odell (David) of Idaho Falls, Steven Thompson (Bernita) of Moreland and Kevin Thompson (Starla) of Shelley; his sisters, Eva Jean Bates of Idaho Falls and LaRee Clark (Lynn) of Utah; and his brothers-in-law, Jesse Dye (Marsha) of Shelley, Ronald Dye (Doris) of Last Chance and Bruce Dye (Joyce) of Rexburg.
Due to the diagnoses of Alzheimer's and health problems they moved to The Gables of Idaho Falls in May 2019.
