He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Lional and Willamelia Frost Barton; and his siblings, Lloyd, Silas, Nancy Bradford, Robert, Stanley and Allen.

He is survived by: his wife Anne; his children, David (Paula), Paul (Jeanne), James (Regina), Merrijane Rice (Jason), Amy Morris (Tim) and Alisa Ellingson (Tegwyn); and his siblings, Anne Mitchell, Helen Halls, April Lee and Edson. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
