He was predeceased by: his parents, Thys Winkel and Reba Zoe Peterson Winkel; his spouse Lanell West; his son-in-law Peter Daniels; his brother Val Winkel (Carolyn); and his nephew Curtis Winkel.
He is survived by: his children, Tanya Renee Winkel of Torrey, Thomas John Winkel of Torrey and Thys Hendrik Winkel of Torrey. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
