He is survived by: his son Charlie; his wife Wilma; his children, Clair K. Coates, Ann Marie Breinholt (Carl), Julie Wanlass (Carl), Charles Hyrum Coates (Tonya) and Aurora; and his siblings, Mary Pavich, Zada Gates (James) of Rocklin, CA and Clara Coates. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
