He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Clyde L. Messinger and Hilda Parkinson; his wife Barbara Marshall Gressman; and his siblings, Arlo Messinger and Ethel Jean Barton. He was also cherished by 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 5 great, great grandchildren.

Walt was born Oct 3rd 1920 to Clyde L. Messinger and Hilda Parkinson in Beaver, Utah.
