He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Dutton and Delpha Shakespear Dutton; his significant other Karen Irene Savage; his siblings, Carvel Dutton, Idella Corporon and Flora Dutton; his son Russell Deloy Dutton; and his grandson Shane Sexton.
He is survived by: his sister Hilda Adcock (Duane); and his children, Darnell Shirley, Hud Dutton (Judy), Pat Lowe (Bill), Randy Dutton (Meggie), Roger Dutton (Shabonya), Amee Gleave (Klyn) and Vince Brennan (Kristy). He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
