He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Nelson and Jesse Nelson; his son Nathan; and his sisters, Irene and Edie.
He is survived by: his former wife Penny; his children, Eddie and Penny Marie; his wife Maggie; his sister Louise; his daughter-in-law Tracey; and his daughter Christine. He is also survived by four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the "Adoption fund" at Red Hills Southern Baptist Church in Enoch, UT.
