He was predeceased by: his parents, William Hayden Hunter and Afton Davis Williams; his siblings, Dan Hunter (Trudy), Jean Stickney (Coey) and Beverly Joy Stubblefield (Jim); and his son Joshua Hayden Hunter.

He is survived by: his close friend Mary Sheila Hunter; his wife Mary Sheila Houchen of Cedar City; his daughters, Laurie Lynn Moran (Michael) and Gina Dawn Luke (Richard); his grandchildren, Hunter Riggs (Michelle), Harrison D. Riggs, Amanda Goldie Peterson (Austin), Summer Lynn Moran, Jocelyn Sheila Penrod and Chelsea Elizabeth Luke; his great grandchildren, Avery Mae Riggs and Evelyn Goldie Peterson; and his brother Harold Hunter (Stacy).
