He was predeceased by: his parents, James Alma Boren and Bessie Mae Monroe; his grandchildren, Jennifer and Justin; and his son-in-law Charles.
He is survived by: his former wife Diana Staley; his children, Donnelle Robinson (Craig), Vivian Ridenour, Duane Boren, Devin Boren and Derek Boren; and his brother Bert Boren. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
