He was predeceased by: his parents, Sedlie Williams Parkinson and Emma Kate Squires Parkinson; and his siblings, Ted, Leo, Lynn, Ralph, Stan, Selma Isaacs, Phylis Jenson, Ruby Stewart and Christine Carroll.

He is survived by: his brother Jim Parkinson; and his children, Alan (Pamela), Dan (Jeri), Vince (Joy), Tina Cannon (David), David (Jan), Kate Cochran (Brent), Rick (Becca), Rob (Nichole) and Julie (Tim). He is also survived by 38 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

He was the ninth of eleven children born to Sedlie Williams Parkinson and Emma Kate Squires Parkinson.
