She was predeceased by: her parents, Clifford Monroe Solem and Jean Louise Thompson; her son Larry Kirk Zander; and her husband Robert Carruthers. She is survived by: her daughter Ronda Zander of Elkridge, MD; her sister Judith Joy of Sun City, AZ; her stepdaughters, Cynthia Prigge (Robert) of Billings and Bettina Redman (Rick) of Missoula; and her nephews, Mark Peres (Laura) of Greer, SC and Daron Peres (Kit) of Woodlawn, MD. She is also survived by six grandchildren.
