He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Alta Violet and Wayne Russell McConkie; his children, Wayne L McConkie (Cindy), Joel William McConkie (Trina) and Christina Thornley (late Mitchell); and his grandchildren, Audrey Merket (Noel), Hope Walker (Joe), Richmond Thornley (Kori), Spencer McConkie (Sarah), Brianna Izatt (Jameson), Mitchell McConkie (Odyssey), Russell McConkie, Joshua McConkie and Amanda McConkie.
