He was predeceased by: his parents, Glen Ashby and Emily Bohner Ashby; his significant other Jean Ashby; his sons, Gary and Kevin; and his siblings, Reed, Steven, Ruby and Joan.

He is survived by: his sons, Craig Ashby (LoriAnn), Kyle Ashby (Kimberly) and Kristopher Ashby (Christina). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
