He was predeceased by: his parents, Fritz Scharffs and Louise Scharffs; his siblings, Gilbert and Virginia; and his son-in-law Dirk Facer.
He is survived by: his wife Marge; his children, Kirsten Facer, Scott and Emily Hansen (Jason); his grandchildren, Austin, Sammy, Porter, Allie, Miranda, Lauren, Noah and Molly; and his great grandchild Kevin.
