He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence William Newson and Margaret Elizabeth Sollis; and his siblings, Mook, Jean and Carol.
He is survived by: his wife Diane Lynn Newson; his children, Wendy Lynn Cochran (Curt), Lisa Shanon "Baby Snooks" Brown (Dave), Stuart Earl Newson (Bitina) and Melissa Diane Newson (Jeremy); and his siblings, Elaine Huston (late Grant), Shirley Wall (Reed), James Newson (Margie) and Mary Van Wagenen (Danny). He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those who wish to honor Earl's memory consider making a donation to the Utah Air National Guard.
