He was predeceased by: his parents, Chase Hatch and Lucille Barlow Murdock; his siblings, Judy Chamberlain and Craig Murdock; and his grandsons, Payton Soderborg, Jaxon Murdock and Britton Wilson.

He is survived by: his wife Adele Gillins; his children, Gretchen Soderborg (Marty), Geoffrey Murdock (Monica), Marshelle Wilson (Jaydel) and Nathan Murdock; and his sister Virginia Willyard. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren.
