He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Thomas Dee and Rosezina Puffer Sly; his wife Carma Sly of Beaver; and his children, Calvin Sly of Beaver, Carla Sly Roach (Verlin Roach) of Tabor and Scott Sly (late RayLynn Sly) of Springville. He was also cherished by 9 grandchildren, 22 great grand-children, 4 step great grand-children, and one great-great grandchild.
