He was predeceased by: his wives, Beulah "Odessa" Stanfield and Eulah May Kearns Johnson; and his sister Catherine Whitman. He is survived by: his children, Brad Hortman (Jo Ann), Suzanne Coker and Bennett Hortman (Lorna). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
