Jacob Ryan Heaps aka Jake Sobotka Heaps, 34, of West Valley passed away on January 2nd 2020. After an ongoing battle with depression, he died by his own hand.
Jacob was born in American Fork, Utah on October 28th 1985. He attended American Fork High School and eventually earned his GED while staying at the Utah County Jail. Jake also attended some classes at SLCC.
His true passions were his girlfriend Tanna and her daughters Sage and Remi, and the Raiders football team. Jake was currently serving as the Utah chapter president of the 801 Knights of the Shield Booster Club. He was also passionate about dogs, specifically his Pitbull Alzado and his Schnorkie Georgia. He was still mourning the loss of Georgia when he passed. Jake was an avid fisherman and loved to take Tanna and the girls fishing. He also enjoyed watching wrestling and collecting the action figures like he did when he was a kid. He had a big personality and he always tried to make everyone laugh. Jake’s usual occupation was in the labor/ construction fields. Most recently he worked for Jordan Valley Construction.
