He was predeceased by: his parents, Elliot Edward and Mary Snyder Smith; his sister Mary Lou; his wife Julia; his son Stacy J Smith; and his granddaughter Sierra Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Shane Smith, Perry Smith (Greta), Cody Smith (Shelly) and Angie Gerber (Brandon); his daughters-in-law, Collette Smith and Cindy Gallagher (Sherm); and his siblings, Leland Smith (Helen), Joann Grace, Raymond Smith (Marcia Ann) and Kay Shelton (Joe). He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
When Covid stopped the in room visits the family was still vigilant in making the most of a bad situation and they visited him through the window often leaving treats, signs and letters and cards expressing their love for him.
