He was predeceased by: his wife Jo Doss; his parents, MJ Doss and Estelle Doss; his grandsons, Josh Schulze and Timmy Clawson; his brothers, Gene Doss (Laverne) and Clayton Doss; and his brother-in-law Buck Horton.
He is survived by: his children, Tim Doss (Pam), Nita O'Neal (Jerry), Monte Doss (Karen) and Kyle Doss (Debbie); his sisters, Vernell Horton and Janette McKinnerey (Floyd); and his sister-in-law Margaret Doss. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.
