He was predeceased by: his parents, Leona Carter (Myers) and Noah Emerson Carter; his son Terry Carter; his son-in-law Sonny Havard; his siblings, Alvin Carter, Jack Carter, Ed Carter, Julia Olson (Carter) and Dorothy Carter; and his mother-in-law Ida Mae Barfield.
He is survived by: his wife Genevieve Carter (Barfield) of Zavalla; his children, Delmer, Jr. (Deb Carter), Larry (Lynda Carter), Quinton Carter of Zavalla, Stephen Carter of Colorado, Virginia Havard of Zavalla, Sylvia (Shane Willoughby) and Lindsey Carter of Florida; and his sisters, Josephine Hinkle of Arizona and Wanda Howell of Arkansas. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations toward funeral expenses would be much appreciated and may be paid directly to Carroway Funeral Home.
