He was predeceased by: his parents, Juan Chapa and Emma Chapa; and his brothers, Nicanor Chapa (Minerva) and Eliazar Chapa. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Chapa; his children, Victor Gamboa (Vicky), Eliamar Andrade (Juan Jose), Astrid Chapa and Erika Salinas (Lee Roy); and his siblings, Juan Antonio Chapa (Francis), Eluid Chapa (Maria Lidia), Francisca Gobeyan (Ernesto), Hortencia Chapa, Elizabeth Chapa and Dora Emma Salinas (Lupe). He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces and other family members and friends.
