She was predeceased by: her daughter Baby; and her siblings, Gumercindo Valadez (Genoveva), Fernando Valadez (Mariana), Juan De Dios Valadez, Lorenza Canales (Alberto), Petra Garza (Ricardo) and Elena Veliz (Ramiro).
She is survived by: her husband Maurilio Sanchez; her children, Mateo Sanchez, Maurilio Sanchez, Jr., Manuel Sanchez, Jose Sanchez (Martina Marisol), Martha Palomo (Antonio) and Maria Maldonado; and her grandchildren, Maria Mireida, Adriana, Mateo Jr., Maurilio III, Clarissa, Adamari, Eddie, Uriel, Manuel, Allen, Marisol, Jose Jr., Arturo, Antonio, Virginia, Eduardo Palomo, Estefania, Jennifer and Marcos Lee Maldonado. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren and other family members and friends.
