She was predeceased by: her parents, Alexander Nelson and Louise Ewing Nelson; her husband Gordon Barrett; her siblings, Josephine Moorhouse, Alexander Nelson Jr. and William Nelson; her granddaughter Margaret Brazell; and her sons-in-law, Marvin Schulze and Bill Rountree.
She is survived by: her daughters, Ann Rountree of Kerrville and Betsy Schulze of Yorktown; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Rountree, Gordon Rountree (Julie), Leigh Ann Kennedy (Toby) and Denise Schulze; and her great grandchildren, Mitchell Kennedy, Courtney Schulze, Aaron Saunders, Katie Kennedy (Landry Williams), Nicholas Rountree, Hunter Loos, Natalie Fillippone (Jovian), Dylan Brazell, Grayson Brazell and Brayden Kennedy. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
