He was predeceased by: his parents, Eli Saunders and Pauline Ann Machost Saunders; his stepfather Pete Waits; his son Dustin Shane Saunders; and his siblings, David Saunders and Shirley Schultz.
He is survived by: his wife Rita Saunders; his children, Dennis Saunders Jr. (Julie), Sherrie Johnson (Charlie), Krystal Everitt (JD), Kimberlee Saunders and Christy Lambert; and his siblings, George Saunders (Sandy), Bonnie Kellis, Sandy Johnson (Odell) and Dianne Moore (Norvan). He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren.
