It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sylvia Lester of Yoakum, Texas, born in Asheville, North Carolina, who passed away on June 3, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Thomas Willis and Betsy Phillips Willis; her husband James Collins Lester; and her siblings, Joann Willis, Elanor Willis, Tommy Willis, Roy Willis and Jack Willis.

She is survived by : her children, Maxine Parr (Lesley), Steven Lester (Barbara), Wayne Lester, Tony Lester and Richard Lester (Dina); and her brother Willard Willis. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Friday, June 7th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Freund Funeral Home (213 N Gonzales St, Cuero, TX 77954). A funeral service was held on Saturday, June 8th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Austin Street Baptist Church (1308 E Gonzales St, Yoakum, TX 77995).
