He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Chomout and Kathrene Lekes Chomout; his wife Frances Motal Chomout; and his siblings, Joan Huntley, Bessie Staehr, Lillian Okruhlik, Mary Kovalcik, James Chomout, Sr., Joe Chomout and Frank Chomout.

He is survived by: his stepson George Motal (Jean) of Phoenix, Arizona. He is also survived by nieces and nephews; great nieces and great nephews.
