He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Freeman Strait and Lenore Beatrice Strait (Miller); and his brother Henry Strait. He is survived by: his wife Michelle Strait (Rasher) of Shiner; his children, Lucinda Pustka (Kevin) of Shiner, Marcella Beckerle (Robert) of Missouri and Justin Strait of Colorado; his grandchildren, Hannah, Carly, Erin Pustka, Ruby, Moses Strait, Liesel, Weston and Isla Beckerle; and his siblings, Dale Roan of Ireland, Don Strait Wills Point (Jan) and Randy Strait (Hope) of Caddo Mills.

Visitation was held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home (1477 Carl Ramert Dr, Yoakum, TX 77995). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Shiner Lutheran Church.

Memorials may be given to 187th AHC or Shiner Baptist Church.
