Edith Moore Obituary
YOAKUM: Edith "Grandma" Moore, age 92, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2023. She was born July 16, 1930 in Pettus to the late Peter and Inda Sparks Porche.
She worked 7 years at Texas Tan, 29 years at Torel and was a housekeeper for many years. Edith was a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church until health kept her from attending. She enjoyed the love of music with her family, sewing, quilting and adored all the children. If ever there was an angel on Earth, Grandma was as close to being one as you could be.
Grandma Moore leaves to cherish her memories: daughter, Rita (Dennis) Saunders; sons, Norvan (Dianne) Moore, Cordell Moore and Delbert (Theresa) Moore; 13 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: parents; husband, Hugh Curtis Moore; sister, Catherine Kendricks; brothers, Peter "Sonny" Porche and Johnny Porche.
Visitation 4:00-6:00 p.m. with Rosary at 6 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2023 at Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home.
Funeral Mass 10 a.m. Monday, January 16, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Matthew Huehlefeld officiating. Burial St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Tommy Moore, Del Moore, T.J. Moore, Cory Stary, Scott Thomas and Charles Copes.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Joseph Catholic Church or donor's choice.
