He was predeceased by: his wife Sybil Lee Canaday; his parents, James "Jim" Canaday and Vera "Ludie" Canaday; and his siblings, James "J. E." Canaday, Mavis Kennimer and Rosie Kennimer.
He is survived by: his nieces and nephews, Linda Hearn of Quitman, Jeannie Keener of Dallas, Sandra Kennimer, Sue Watson, Jimmy Dell Kennimer, Teresa Christian, Ryan Canaday, Greg Canaday and Rhonda Majors; his great-nephew Gary Trussell of Alba; his great-niece Adrian Hearn of Quitman; and also, Nikki Friedrich (Laikyn Cooper) of Athens and PawPaw.
