He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Raymond and Minnie Dorothy Read Poynter; and his brother James R. Poynter. He is survived by: his daughter Kendra Crerand of San Antonio; his brother William A. Poynter (Roz) of Austin; his nephew Ryan J. Poynter of San Antonio; his cousin Deborah Dean Ragazzi of San Antonio; his sister-in-law Debra Catalani of New Braunfels; his former wife Terry Hanline of Natalia; and his friend Eunice Soliz of Yancey. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
