He was predeceased by: his parents, Antonia DeLeon Chavez and Candido Ramos; his stepmother Maria Ellen Ramos; his stepbrother Ismael Ramos; and his parents-in-law, Manuel and Petra Gonzalez Reyes.
He is survived by: his wife Rose Reyes Chavez; his daughters, Crystal Lynne Chavez and Kattie Chavez; and his siblings, Linda Bayerlein, Ofra Franco, Alicia Valdez, Delfina Galvan, Anna Chapa and Candido Ramos, Jr..
