She was predeceased by: her husband Charles Mercer; her daughter Cheryl Jean Deckard; her son-in-law Norm Burke; and her parents, Roy McCallister and Frances McCallister.
She is survived by: her daughter Roxanne (Larry DeBerry) of Wylie; her grandchildren, Jacqueline Burke of Overland Park, Laurence DeBerry, Jeanette (Ragen Jones), Amber (Craig Grider), Traci Turner, Jonathon (Gloria Deckard) and Jason Deckard; her great grandchildren, Alesha (Drew Bailey), Shelbie (Ryan McDonald), Caleb, Micah, Matthan Jones, Devon, Riley Grider, Mya, Abbie Turner, Olivia, Elena and Luke Deckard; and her great great grandchildren, Harper Chae, Hudson Lynn, Henleigh Roxanne McDonald, Lola Jean, RaeLynn Mae, Cora Alice and Adam Jay Bailey.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 5th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Allen Funeral Home (508 Masters Ave, Wylie, TX 75098). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Dallas-Ft Worth National Cemetery (2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to MD Anderson or a charity in her honor.
