It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gary Layne Smith (Wortham, Texas), born in Dayton, Ohio, who passed away on May 2, 2023, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Sherman Smith and Gladys Ruth Roney Smith; his wife Pamela Sue Franks Smith; his children, Amity (Will) and Daniel (Chanté Smith); his grandson William; his brothers, David Smith, Rodney Smith and George Holland; and also, Adeline Smith and Jack.
