He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Roy Russell and Ione Timken Russell; his spouse Maxey Schnitzer; his daughter Stephanie Baker (Jim); his granddaughter Christina Leigh Schwarz (Adam); his great grandchild Kaddison Mae Schwarz of Woodway; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Leandra, Mackenzie and Jayden Schwarz; and his sister Frances Jeffries of North Carolina.
