He was predeceased by: his parents, Stuart Kent and Catherine Neff Cassell; his wife Ann Chrisman Cassell; his former wife Juanita Shaeffer Cassell; his brother Dr. Stuart Kent Cassell, Jr.; and his sister-in-law Martha Sim Cassell.
He is survived by: his children, Ellen Bryant (Graham) of Dallas, Elizabeth Bandy (David) of Temple and Michael S. Cassell (Carrie) of Dallas; his grandchildren, Maddie, Catherine, Logan, Cullen, Mason, Garrison and Landon; his brother Jerry Cassell (Linda) of Richmond, VA; his niece Ann S. Cassell of Blacksburg, VA; and his nephews, Jay Cassell, Joey Cassell of Richmond, VA and Chris Cassell (Jennifer) of Atlanta, GA..
