He was predeceased by: his mothers, Connie Ray Cowart and Marie McDonald Cowart; his daughter Crystal Gayle Cowart; his grandson Zackary Allen Cowart; and his brothers, Walter Ray Cowart and Richard Cowart.
He is survived by: his wife Marla Cowart of Woodville; his children, Heather James (Roy) of Woodville, Nicole Daberkow (Robert) of Woodville, Jeremy Smith (Amy) of Livingston and Joseph Smith of Livingston; and his sisters, Sally Hall (Omer) of Warren and Brittie Parton (Curtis) of Spurger. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
