He was predeceased by: his parents, John Powell and Mary Powell; his son Louis D. Powell, Jr. (Amy) of Woodville; and his siblings, Carmen Winters, Eva Hatcher, John Powell, Jr. and Stanley Powell.
He is survived by: his wife Donna Powell; his daughter Tabitha Messer (John) of Woodville; his grandchildren, Christopher Messer, Cordelia Messer, Emily Messer and Angela McGee; and his siblings, Madeline Rogers of Vidor, Tina Landry of Groves, Christine Martin of Beaumont, William Powell of Woodville, Mark Powell of Kirbyville, Paul Powell of Lakewood, John Craven of Baton and Rouge. He is also survived by other family members and friends.
