He is survived by: his wife Mary A. Jordan Williams; his children, Sarah L. Costa (Ron), David Williams (Linda), Joe B. Williams, Sr. (Ranata), Paul M. Williams (Sherry), Rebekah L. Starr and Ruth A. Williams; and his sister Maxine Jones. He is also survived by his seventeen grandchildren, thirty-one great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
