He was predeceased by: his parents, James Wiley Gainey and Evelyn Gerrard Gainey; and his sister Allison Gainey Stephens. He is survived by: his wife Lynette Davis Gainey; his daughters, Laura (Byron Young) and Susan (Mike Ferguson); his grandchildren, Mark Young (Katie), Emily Valerio (Isaac), William Young, Leah Goertz (Ryne), Nathan Watts and Benjamin Watts; his great grandchildren, James, Claire, Ellis, Abraham and Charlotte; and his brothers, Hugh Gainey (Elaine) of Rogers and Paul Gainey of Houston. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
